Stewardship - A Note from our Financial Secretary
PUMC-November is Stewardship Month
Although I speak about different aspects of it, I do not use the word stewardship in regular conversation except for this time of year. For that reason, I find the definition helpful as a reminder.
According to Merriam-Webster, stewardship is “the conducting, supervising, or managing of something; especially the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care.”
During the month of November, we will review what it means to be a Christian steward and ways that we can use the gifts that we have been given by God.

Giving is Kept Confidential
Your giving is kept confidential. However, when you give with a personal check, a giving envelope with your name and address, or through electronic giving, our financial secretary will track your giving and mail you a quarterly report to your home. The end of the year report will serve as a receipt for your tax reporting.

Other possibilities for giving
- Give of your time. Even if only a little time, it helps the plan that God has in place.
- Volunteer for different church ministries.
- Assist with maintenance around the church.
- Donate food supplies and other items that are in need. These items funnel through our church and out into our community!
- Give money to the church. It will be used for our ministries to expand, to help those in our community who need assistance as well as the different community functions that occur in our building (Backpacks for Bellies, Food Bank, Clothes closet, Bible studies). Money is essential to maintain the building, pay for the heat and electricity, and to pay the staff required to support all of this and reach our community. And…your giving/tithing is tax deductible!
