At Portland United Methodist Church, we believe that God is present whenever His people come together—in worship, in prayer, in service, and in everyday life. Faith isn’t just something we practice alone; it’s something we share as a community filled with grace, love, and hope.
We Believe in God’s Presence: God is always with us, but there’s something special about coming together in His name. Whether it’s Sunday worship, a small group, or a potluck in Fellowship Hall, we trust that Christ is right there in our midst—guiding, comforting, and uniting us through the Holy Spirit.
We Believe in Grace: As Methodists, we believe God’s grace is freely given to all people. It meets us where we are, transforms our hearts, and empowers us to live with love and purpose. No one is beyond the reach of God’s mercy or the warmth of His welcome.
We Believe in Growing Together: Faith is a journey best traveled side by side. We study Scripture, pray, serve, and celebrate together—learning from one another as we seek to live out Christ’s example. Every person, every story, and every act of kindness strengthens the body of Christ.
We Believe in Loving Our Neighbors: Jesus calls us to care for the world around us. From supporting local families to reaching out globally, we strive to be the hands and feet of Christ—sharing His compassion wherever there is need.
